Let’s go skiing!
Parkland members and guests will be exploring Central Alberta this winter and running beginner day trips out to the mountains, all at no extra cost! Our monthly gatherings, when allowed, will be outdoor ski and campfire fun at local trails the 2nd Tuesday of Jan, Feb and March of 2021.
All meetings and gatherings will make Covid safety measures a 1st priority.
No skis? No problem! River Bend is renting them out daily.
Please let us know what adventures you are enjoying – post to the Parkland Cross Country Ski Club Facebook page!
Everyone is welcome to join us!
PARKLAND SKI CLUB PRESENTS:
FRESH FROM FAIRY MEADOWS
A PRESENTATION BY STEVE BENNETT
Date: Tuesday, March 10th
Time: 7:30 pm
Location: Kerry Wood Nature Center
A day tour is proposed to Crimson Lake (near Rocky Mountain House) on Saturday 28 February 2015, leaving Red Deer at about 10am. Please call (403 340 0050) Richard Townell or email email@example.com if you want to go. We may be able to car pool.
George, Margo, Dave, Ivan and Dion got together for visiting and updating on Friday night. On Saturday the day started with poor road conditions, noting of a couple of accidents and congested traffic making the beginning of the day a bit worrisome. The group was the first on the trail with a couple cm of new snow at trailhead making for nice uphill ski on warm sunny day. The uphill trip was interrupted only by the noise from Sunshine’s frequent avalanche control activities. Lunch was in sunny meadow with gentle warm breeze keeping temperatures perfect.

At varying times Friday, January 9th, thirteen members of Parkland Ski Club met at Rampart Hostel, sharing travel stories and enjoying late dinners. So interesting to observe the varieties of chili! Maybe next year a “Chili cook off?”
