This page will list local (to Red Deer and area) ski trail conditions as I receive them from the trail operators or skiers. If the operators/ groomers of area trails have a web link, email address or other contact info I will include that in the post.

Great Chief Park to Heritage Ranch . Are in excellent condition as a result of last weekends snowfall and an extensive snow moving effort by the many volunteers in Red Deer that help out with the trails. Another warming trend for the weekend might change all that, but there is sufficient base to renovate and re-track should they break down. Great Chief Park. The loops around the ball diamonds at Great Chief Park have been renovated and are in excellent condition for the most part. It is a good place to practice and/or ski the loops for fitness. River Bend . River Bend has packed the new snow on the upper and lower trails for ski skating. There are some thin spots under the trees and at the brow of some of the hills that are quite treacherous. The lower trails may have been track set, including those on the fairways. No word on the tracking of the perimeter trail which hasn’t had enough snow all year to lay a track. Remarks: We may be one of the few places outside the mountains that you can still ski with all this ridiculous weather we have been having. Pray for snow. |
Ski trails at Pigeon Lake Provincial Park and Rundle’s Mission have been groomed and trackset. Ski conditions are very
good and it’s shaping up to be a great week for getting out
and enjoying the mild weather and our beautiful countryside.
