I am brand new to the sport, but fell in love and want to really get into skiing this year. I want to join the club and learn, as well as hope to make some new friends. I hope to see you on the snow soon!
site sure looks good Brian. easy to get around. very user friendly.
Nice work with the site. I’d love to see more information about available trails in the surrounding area – Sylvan Lake, Lacombe, Gull Lake, downtown RD? For newcomers or beginners it is not easy to find all the details on trails, trail etiquette, distance, levels of difficulty, etc. but the Club seems the best and most logical source.
I will add a page on the left column for local trails. Thanks for the request
Checking out the Ski Here web site it looks like some groomed trails are open on the Moraine Lake Road.

I’m quite new to the area and am looking for information on where I can rent cross-country skis.
If I can’t rent them in Red Deer, where are the best places to buy them? I’d need someone who is knowledgeable to help me with what to buy because I haven’t owned skis since there were three prongs on them.
Is buying skis part of the “beginner skiing” course offered in January? Maybe that should be the first class!
The lessons will start with skiing since there is not a lot of time available. The instructor will help with waxing if necessary.
Valhalla Pure has both rentals and sales. Their staff is also knowledgeable for sizing etc.
